28 January 2009 WRITTEN BY: Rich No Comment

@benjilanyado: looking for cool/cheap hotel for Paris next week. challenge <€70. Any ideas?

paris2While it may not be as buzz-worthy as the Kube Hotel, the Hotel Garden Opera has lots of character and charm. Ideally located in the heart of the cultural triangle of Montmartre-Opera–Notre Dame, the hotel is great for leisure and/or business. Near the Gare du Nord (Eurostar London and Thalys Belgium-Netherlands), the Garden Opera district includes restaurants, theaters and shopping. The Hotel Garden Opera has been entirely renovated in a contemporary style. It is a warmly decorated, family run hotel that offers everything associated with modern comfort in the famous central district of the Parisian theaters. Metro: Chateau d’eau (line 4), Gare de l’Est (lines 4,5,7), Gare du Nord (lines 4,5). RER B et D: Gare du Nord, Direct to Airport Charles de Gaulle.

Based on availability, a 3 night stay at the Hotel Garden Opera next Monday through Thursday will run you 73EUR a night and we feel it’s worth paying the extra 3EUR per night.

paris-hotel-2If spending over 70EUR a night is just not possible, we’d stay at the Hôtel Roma Sacré-Coeur which is considered to be an artist’s paradise. It is difficult to find a more charming and typical place for your Parisian stay than in the enchanting quarter of Montmartre . Here you will discover the Sacre Coeur and a breathtaking view over Paris and you can enjoy the numerous cafes on the square Place du Tertre.

Based on availability, a 3 night stay at this very simple Hôtel Roma Sacré-Coeur is 53EUR per night.
