If you’re in Prague, you may want to check out the Czech Beer Festival which starts today. For the next ten days, from May 22 to May 31, the Czech Beer Festival will feature the best from Czech breweries as well as Czech chefs, butchers and bakers. Attendees will have the chance to taste more than 50 brands of Czech beer in eight large tents with a total seating capacity of 10,000. Each tent has its own stage featuring live bands and colorful entertainment programs.
While last year there was a fee for admission, this year, admission is free. The festival has its own special currency known as the Tolar. Tolars are worth 40 CZK and can be purchased in rolls of five. The cost of one Tolar per beer is the same for all brands. Tolars can also be used to pay for food and souvenirs in the tents. Tolars can be purchased from the servers at your table. The Czech Beer Festival is being held at the PVA Letnany Exhibition Center near the Letnany Metro stop.
