Czech beers are among the best in the world. The most famous are Pilsner Urquell (the city gave its name to that kind of beer) and Krusovice (dark one is great!).
Prague is a very nice city as well!

I have to say, watch out for the Czech beer, especially combined with Absinthe. I was in Prague just a few days out of being at about 7000 feet. Normally a drop in altitude gives me a resistance to alcohol that is hard to get over. In Prague, we had some absinthe, just one glass and switched to Pivo(beer). The beer did not taste strong to me, but it surely was. I got up off of a bar stool and nearly stumbled out the door. The rest of my stay, I had a much increased respect for the punch of Czech beer as much as it being so dang tasty.

Also, it may just be my macabre nature, but I LOVED the torture museum just by the St. Charles Bridge, I believe on the Nové Město side of the bridge.

I also have to say, I really enjoyed the Czechs that I met. I found them retiring at first, but very funny and welcoming once the ice was broken.
