Amsterdam's Public Pissoirs

pissoirWhile they may have no running water and smell bad, the public pissoirs are a part of everyday life in Amsterdam. Public pissoirs have been added on the streets in an effort to curb the “wild pissing” problem which is considered to be one of Amsterdam’s top annoyances. There are two types; the original green metal public pissoirs and the newer plastic quad versions. The originals are fairly private, relatively speaking, and it’s very common to see people using them. The newer plastic public pissoirs, however, are much more open. Four men can use them at once and, with the exception of the part of you facing the center column, you are really out there taking a leak in public.

eeewwww? I think it’s great. Better then pi***ng all over the streets & buildings. It’s also not always so easy to find a public toilet in other towns.
They just still have to find a solution for the ladies… :)
