The place is very green, but extremely touristy now, and I assume it will only get more touristy as it becomes accessible only by boat once the Dam Project is complete. It might not be the best destination anymore culturally, but it really highlights the effects of the Project on the Chinese and minority people in the area. The temples inside the complex are amazing. Some of the statues are interesting, while others are kind of silly and a little on the tacky side.
