Dude, Baby Blues is so not cheap. I eat there all the time since its the only BBQ close to me in West Hollywood, but I end up paying 50 bucks for 2 people. Yikes!

For awesome LA BBQ, you gotta hit up Big Mista's at one of the farmer's markets. It's waaay cheaper and definitely worth the trip.

Hey Amy,
Thai Town in LA is the place to go, most places take cash only. My favorite place is 5657 Torung on Hollywood Blvd., the waitresses are nice and fun and the food is amazing, try one of the Thai soups. At Torung you'll find the most eccentric crowd seated next to Thai families, it's the best.
Another great suggestion is Pho Cafe in Silverlake on 2841 W. Silverlake Blvd, they offer vietnamese food. It's a restaurant with no name on the outside but you'll always find a crowd waiting in front. And yes, it is well worth it.

Amy, For good, cheap Thai food in Los Angeles, stop by Thai Town, on Hollywood Blvd east of Western (Hollywood & Western Metro station). You can pick and choose. Thai Patio is good, inexpensive and has live music (I went there the first time with a certificate from restaurant.com). There's also a little hole in the wall place on the corner of Serrano that has great $5-$6 meals.

Hi Amy - I used to go to Thai House (8657 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035) all the time...primarily because it was close to my office.

Funny enough, I have also lived in San Diego and have quite a few cheap favorites there. So, stay tuned...

Wonderful!! As I gear up for my trip in Nov. This list is perfect! :) I'm surprised not seeing any Thai joints though. Thai food is normally rather affordable. Any recommendation on Thai food?

Also since you are taking request. :) Any great cheap eats in San Diego? :)
