swizzle-inn-bermuda-316Shipwrecks, shorts with knee socks, and pink sand may be the first things that come to mind when thinking of Bermuda, but no trip to the British Overseas Territory is complete without a stop at the Swizzle Inn. This 18th century landmark located on the main route to and from the airport and St. George is Bermuda’s oldest and certainly most famous pub. The “Swizzle”, as locals call it, is home to Bermuda’s national drink, the Rum Swizzle. The local Gosling’s Black Seal Rum fuels the fruity cocktail which is legendary for “making the locals ‘loco’ and the tourists ‘tipsy.’” During the summer months, the Swizzle Inn offers live entertainment every night and has business cards from all over the world tacked to the walls, ceilings, and doors. Stop by the Swizzle Inn and decide for yourself if the world famous pub lives up to its motto, “swizzle inn and stagger out.”
